FREE WEB DESIGN/ HOSTING EXTRAS Some web designers charge an additional rate for the items and services below, these are all INCLUDED when you decide to let us develop and host your website . Custom error pages Instead of your visitors seeing their standard browser error page that leads them away from your site, they will see a custom error page that has your navigation. This keeps them within your website when they put in an incorrect link, or go to a page that is no longer on your website. We will setup 4 custom error pages, one each for 401, 402, 403 and 404 errors. These occur when someone clicks a link through to a page that no longer exists on your site, or enters the link incorrectly into their browser. See an example of our custom error page here. Custom private website statistics page Using your personal login and password you will be able to check the statistics of your website. We will place a link to your stats on your main page, making it easy to check your stats from any computer logged on to the internet. Our thorough statistics will tell you how many visitors you have received, what pages they are viewing, when your website is viewed the most and where your visitors are coming from. It will also tell you how many visitors you are getting from each search engine you are listed in, or other websites that link to you. Search engine optimization (SEO) While SEO can be time consuming and is best left to professionals that specialize in it, we do our best to optimize your website to make it search engine friendly. This means including the proper title, keywords and website description to garner the most traffic from search engines. A search engine friendly site is one that that agrees with the search engines. It's easy for them to navigate and list and contains no coding tricks that can get your site banned. We will also give you pointers on your main page text, as the larger search engines like Google use the text on your main page to determine the nature of your site. By using keywords and phrases that are relative to your business, product or service in your main page, you are enriching the content of your site in the eyes of the search engines. We work hard to insure that your site will be picked up by most of the major search engines. Search engine submission Once your site is online and you have approved it fully we will submit it to the www.dmoz.org website. www.dmoz.org is an open directory project that lists websites specifically by what they are about. The major search engines cull the majority of the sites that are listed in the directory and add them to their listings. Inclusion in the dmoz directory will insure traffic from several of the major search engines. Most sites that we develop are indexed by the search engines within 1 week of being online. New client's link Getting other sites that are already in the search engines to link to you helps get you listed, and helps move you up higher under your keywords. To that effect we will link to your website off of our main page for a period of no less than one month. Our site is visited by search engines 1000+ times per day. When their web crawler finds your website link on our page, it will follow the link and index your web site as well. Email boxes or email forwards We will provide you with up to 5 email boxes off of your domain name, or, we can forward email addresses off your domain name to an existing box. Most of our clients choose to just forward theirname@theirdomain.com to an email address they already have rather than having to check two separate accounts. If you do choose to have actual email boxes off of the account however they will be through Horde mail. You will be able to access your email box right off of your website from any computer with internet access. Monthly text updates and photo swaps Its easy to find hosting online for $12.00 per month or cheaper. Usually however you have to manage your own site to get this deal, they don't update your site in any way, you have to go in and do it. This can get very tedious when you're trying to run a small business. That's why our hosting includes updates. We will update any text on your website up to 5 times per month. This includes changing out the entire text on a page, or just adding a few words. Spelling and grammar corrections do not count towards your 5 updates. You can send those in at any time and we will take care of them, we want your site to be as correct and up to date as possible. Our hosting also includes up to 5 photo change-outs per month. Any photos on your site that are stand-alone, that is not combined with other images, may be exchanged with any other photo of your choosing. All you have to do is send us the photo by email in jpg or gif format. The only time there is an additional fee for site updates is when you are overhauling an existing page or adding a new one.
